Prep
In order to drive your tractor safely, you’ll need to take some time to prepare your machinery. If your tractor is new, or its controls are a bit unfamiliar to you, we strongly advise reading through your owner’s manual before taking it for a ride. This booklet will contain extremely important information regarding your tractor’s controls, upkeep, and unique features.
Inspection
Before you hop up into the cab, you’ll need to give your tractor a quick inspection to ensure it’s functioning properly. To start, take a quick walk around your machine, keeping an eye out for damaged tracks, or leaking tires. You’ll also want to watch for puddles or wet parts, as they may be the result of leaking fluids. Finally, if your tractor has any implements installed, you’ll want to double-check check they’re still securely attached. If everything checks out, you’re free to climb aboard your tractor to get started. Just be sure to double-check your mirrors and fasten your seatbelt before you drive off.
Rollovers
Rollovers are one of the most common tractor accidents and are extremely dangerous. To avoid a rollover, you’ll need to pay close attention to your surroundings. Try to avoid uneven or hilly terrain that could result in your tractor falling forward or backward. If you are going up a small incline, be sure to switch your machine into a higher gear, if possible.
